Improve Facial Harmony with a Nose Job

Rhinoplasty Mexico

The nose is one of the most prominent facial features, and its appearance can have a significant impact on your self-image. If you are unhappy with a particular feature of your nose – such as the nostrils, tip, or bridge – you may opt to undergo rhinoplasty (nose job) to correct the trait. With cosmetic surgery, we can refine your appearance and improve your confidence.

Consider combining rhinoplasty with a vacation in Mexico at Perfection Makeover and Laser Center, located in beautiful Cancun. Our surgical center and medical spa are world-renowned for advanced skin treatments, as well as surgery of the face, body, and breast. What is Rhinoplasty?

The size, shape, and features of the nose can be determined by a number of factors, including genetics, an injury, or a previous facial surgery. Rhinoplasty surgically corrects flaws or imperfections in the nose, such as a bulbous tip, a wide bridge, large nostrils, or a hump on the nose’s profile. A nose job can also alleviate impaired breathing caused by structural abnormalities, such as a deviated septum. Depending on the specific needs of the patient, our plastic surgeon improves the appearance and function of the nose. Facial balance, proportion, and symmetry are fundamental in rhinoplasty treatment plans, just as they are with a facelift or chin surgery.

The Rhinoplasty Procedure

Rhinoplasty surgery is typically performed under general anesthesia. As a safety precaution, patients should discuss their complete medical history with the plastic surgeon prior to the surgery, so that the best anesthesia option is selected. During rhinoplasty, the surgeon will employ either the open or closed technique. The difference between the two approaches lies in the location of the incisions.

Closed Rhinoplasty

A closed rhinoplasty is performed through incisions made inside the nostrils. Through the incisions, the surgeon reshapes the cartilage and bone to the desired specifications. The closed rhinoplasty is very popular at our Mexico practice because it leaves no external scarring.

Open Rhinoplasty

In an open rhinoplasty, the surgeon makes the incisions inside the nose, as well as across the columella. (The columella is the thin column of tissue separating the nostrils.) The surgeon then lifts the skin off the top of the nose and shapes the cartilage. This approach allows the surgeon better access to the cartilage and bone of the nose. It may cause a small scar on the underside of the columella, but because of the scar’s placement, it is very unnoticeable.

Benefits of Rhinoplasty

One of the biggest benefits of a nose job is that the results are tailored to the individual patient’s needs and goals. The transformation can be as subtle or dramatic as the patient desires. It will also target the specific features of the nose that the patient doesn’t like (e.g. the nostrils, tip, or bridge). Rhinoplasty can create symmetry of the face. It can also alter the shape of the nose, improving its proportion to the rest of the face. The aesthetic benefits of a nose job generally enhance the self-confidence and self-esteem of the patient, leading to greater social interaction with friends and professional engagement with colleagues.
