MACS Mini Facelift

Medical Spa Mexico - MACS Mini Facelift

A Minimally Invasive Alternative to Traditional Facelift

MACS Mini Facelift Mexico

The results of a facelift are truly fantastic – the procedure can take years off of the appearance of the face, making the patient look and feel rested, refreshed, and beautiful. However, certain people may be hesitant to undergo a traditional facelift. To satisfy these patients, Perfection Makeover and Laser Center performs the MACS mini facelift at our Cancun, Mexico surgical facility. The MACS mini facelift produces virtually the same results as a traditional facelift, without many of the challenges posed by traditional surgery (e.g., patients recover much quicker from a mini facelift than from a traditional facelift surgery). Contact our cosmetic surgery practice if you would like more information about the MACS mini facelift, our surgical team, or our fully accredited facility.

What Is a Mini Facelift?

A MACS (Minimal Access Cranial Suspension) mini facelift is a variation on the full facelift, though less invasive, and without the expense and downtime associated with traditional surgery. It also differs from a traditional facelift in that it targets specific areas of the face instead of taking a more global approach. The procedure can take up to 10 years off of your appearance, by removing excess sagging skin from the lower face and neck, and tightening the underlying facial layers. This is done through an “S” shaped incision in the crease in front of the ear. The incision is designed in a way that makes it almost invisible over time. The mini facelift refines the contours and improves facial tone to give the appearance of being well-rested and refreshed.

Ideal candidates for a MACS mini facelift have a bit of sagging and drooping around the cheeks, jowls, and neck area, but have strong bone structure and some skin elasticity. Mini facelift candidates at our practice are usually in their 40s-60s, but occasionally younger or older patients choose to reap the rewards of this procedure as well. Candidates should be in good health, and psychologically stable with appropriate, realistic expectations of the surgery. The mini facelift will improve the appearance of the face, and minimize small flaws (e.g., lines and wrinkles), but it will not totally transform any of the facial features.

Extended MACS Mini Facelift

An extended MACS lift involves the placement of sutures to retain fullness in the cheeks. The fat pad naturally descends as we age, and can deepen the fold running from the corner of the nose to the corner of the mouth; the sutures elevate it to produce fullness in the cheeks and make this fold less prominent.

Benefits of a MACS Mini Facelift

The advantages of a mini facelift over a traditional facelift include:

  • Outpatient surgery

  • Minimal downtime

  • Less post-operative pain, swelling, and bruising

  • Less overall scarring

  • Cost savings

  • Uses local anesthesia / oral sedation

Benefits of a MACS Mini Facelift

The risk of complications occurring during or after an MACS mini facelift procedure is quite slim. Unfavorable reaction to anesthesia, infection, and bleeding occur in rare cases. Patients may experience temporary bruising, swelling, and tenderness after the procedure, but any discomfort can be controlled with over-the-counter pain medication and cold compresses.
