FACIAL LIFTING

Facelift or rhytidectomy is a surgical procedure in which manipulation of muscle and fatty tissue of the face corrects flaccid skin, neck folds and cheekbones.
It may be accompanied by other procedures such as a neck lift, eyelid surgery, forehead stretching, eyebrows lift.

OBJECTIVE:

Give the facial skin a younger and natural appearance by stretching and removing excess fatty tissue.

RESULTS THAT MAY BE ACHIEVED:

In most cases it will last 8 to 10 years. Repositioning adjustments may be made.

DURATION OF THE PROCEDURE:

Approximately 4 hours.

SURGICAL AND POSTSURGICAL ASPECTS

  • General anesthesia or local anesthesia with intravenous sedation.
  • Usually does not require hospitalization.
  • May resume work activities 10 to 14 days after the procedure. Activities of greater physical effort may be resume at least 2 weeks after. Must avoid sun exposure for several months and use sunscreen against UVA and UVB rays.

DISCOMFORT:

Temporary swelling, numbness, tightness, itchiness, and dryness on the skin. In the case of men, they should permanently shave the back of the ears where the skin with follicle growth is repositioned.
