Breast Reduction Mexico
Big breasts can be physically and emotionally troublesome for certain women. They can put a strain on the body, restrict their physical activity, and cause feelings of self-consciousness. Surgical breast reduction removes excess fat, tissue, and skin to improve the proportion of the breasts to the rest of the body and alleviate the strain of heavy or large breasts. If you are interested in relieving yourself of the discomfort of large breasts, consider breast reduction surgery at our Cancun, Mexico practice, Perfection Makeover and Laser Center. Contact our cosmetic team today for more details, or to schedule a personal consultation with our surgeons. Our entire team is known for our professionalism, honesty, and talent.
Ideal candidates for breast reduction surgery are bothered by large, heavy breasts that put a strain on the neck, shoulders, or back. Indentations in the shoulders from bra straps that are too tight, or irritation in the skin underneath the breasts, are both signs of overly large and heavy breasts. Other candidates may have breasts that are out of proportion with the rest of the body, or asymmetrical in size.
After anesthesia has been administered, the surgeon makes the incisions for the breast reduction surgery. The incision may be made circularly around the areola, around the bottom edge of the areola to the crease underneath the breast, or along the natural curve of the breast crease. The nipples and areolas are shifted into a higher position, and the size of the areola may be reduced. The nipple may remain attached to the blood and nerve supply; however, on extremely large, pendulous breasts, the nipple may be removed and repositioned. Underlying excess breast tissue is removed, and remaining tissue is lifted into a higher position. Liposuction may be used during the procedure to remove excess fatty tissue. The incisions are then closed, creating the new shape of the breasts.
The patient rests and recovers comfortably for several days after breast reduction surgery. You will need to wear dressings and bandages over the incisions, and a garment to support the breasts during the healing process and minimize the swelling. Over time, incision lines fade until they become nearly undetectable, though they are permanent.

Possible complications of breast reduction surgery include infection, bleeding, reaction to the anesthesia, and loss of sensation in the nipples. The height of the nipples may vary, and the breasts may not be symmetrical. The risk of complications is best discussed with your plastic surgeon prior to the surgery. If you have concerns, your surgeon can explain how rarely these complications occur, and what measures are taken to prevent them.
